Press Release for 8-15-14 Incident
On 8-15-14 at approx. 1643 hours, Officers from the Antrim Police Department were dispatched to 15 High Street, Antrim, NH for a male subject threatening to shoot everyone in the residence. The Antrim Police Department was assisted by Officers from the Hillsboro PD, Greenfield PD, Bennington PD, and the Hancock PD and the Antrim Ambulance was requested to respond and stage away from the location and a portion of High Street was shut down.
Upon arrival of the Antrim PD, it was determined that all occupants except for the suspenct had exited the residence adn were unharmed. The male suspect was identified as Denis Nugent (DOB 11-25-81), 15 High Street, Antrim, NH. He was said to be armed with a handgun and was highly intoxicated. At one point Nugent exited the residence with the handgun pointed at his head and made contact with the Antrim Officers before fleeing back inside the residence. A short time later, Nugent again exited the residence, this time unarmed, and was ordered to the ground by Officers of the Antrim PD.
Nugent was subsequently taken into custody for Felony Level Criminal Threatening and Felony Level Reckless Conduct. Nugent was treated by Ambulance personnel for self-inflicted lacerations to the wrist and transported to Monadnock Community Hospital where he was booked and bailed on $200,000 Cash or Surety and will be arraigned on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the 6th Circuit District Division Hillsboro Court.
